Believe it or not, but I actually have two lives that I live. No, I am not a work geek by day and the Dark Knight at night, but I have a day job with Northlink College where I assist with the Photography (bet you did not see that coming), Videography (Yes, I can do that too), PR and Social Media. But every now and again I get asked to operate and play with the big boys (and girl) of the College…the Executive Management and I recently took their corporate profile photographs for the website and annual reports. This was fun…
Karlien and Hendrik’s wedding was a wedding to remember, everything was great and the venue, the stunning Hudson’s situated on the Vredenheim Wildlife and Winery in Stellenbosch. I have never had the opportunity to shoot at this venue and this … Continue reading →
What a great experience it was to have had the opportunity to photograph my lifelong friend, Johan, his beautiful wife Jolanie and their son Sion at the beautiful Garden Route Botanical Gardens in George. I knew Johan from when I was only 6 months old and he was 7 months in the church and since then we have been friends for years. It truly was a great blessing to take these images with them.
I have been privileged to have been given the chance to photograph some cute babies and toddlers since my photography journey. And Joshua was nooooo exception to it. He was the happiest, most content baby ever and the Green Point Urban Park was a great space for this little man to enjoy his shoot with his mother.
I met Simone and Johan on the day of their shoot and although they both were quite shy and soft spoken they quickly warmed up to me (and my camera). Johan is actually great swimmer and was even part of the South African Paralympic Team and is currently busy preparing to take part in next year’s Paralympics. The sea, sand and the Mountain all made for a great day with lots of laughs and sooo much fun between Simone (that although she still was quite shy still gave me some awesome smiles and laughs) and Johan. They will be getting married in February 2016 and I look forward to sharing the day with them.
The South African Institute of Welding held their Certification Ceremony at Encore Restaurant and Conference Centre recently to award the students that took part in the training courses provided by the Institute. Here are just some images of the event.
So…as you all know…family is a big part of my life and the value of a family is immeasurable in my life. And I have had the opportunity to shoot this whole family and extended family during their family get-together at Wineberg Park. Everyone, young and old was there and here are some of the shots that stood out for me on the day.
“Music is a universal language” – Well I don’t know or can’t remember who said that, but I do know that love is also a universal language and the love that Jenine and Graham have for each other can be seen and experienced by anyone. Graham is a musician that love to play the trumpet and that is why I thought it would be nice to include the trumpet in their shoot. But what a fun time we had with them at the Canals just behind one of the biggest shopping centres in Africa, Canal Walk.
Meet Melodie and Viljoen, one of the couples that I will never forget shooting. These two are just soooo full of energy and have a zest for life (wow) but more than that, their love is really tangible. Melodie booked their shoot with me and asked me to go with them to the Wijnland Auto Museum to shoot and without hesitating I said “YES” (Always wanted to shoot there). We had a fun time shooting this energetic and fun couple at the museum. Do yourself a favour and go and visit the museum. You will be pleasantly surprised. I would also like to wish Melodie and Viljoen all the best for their wedding that will be taking place later this year and wish them well for their future together.
What a great experience it was to have driven to one of the most beautiful parts of our country – The West Coast. The majestic SeaTrader venue along with the peaceful seas of St Helena made for the perfect place for Rudolf and Carina to start their “Happy Ever After.” This wedding was another one that I assisted the talented Veronique Mills of Veronique photography and what a great time it was.
