The SAIW held their first Annual Gala Dinner to not only celebrate the successes but to thank the students, staff and the stakeholders for their support during the past years. The event was held at the beautiful Eensgezind function venue just outside of Durbanville. One of the highlights of the night was definitely the Gugulethu Tenors performing an Afrikaans Medley that got many of the attendees smiling. Here are some of the images:
"Where there is no vision, there is no hope." - George Washington Carver. This is sooooo true when you look at what Optometrist. They give people that are struggling to see the hope to see better. And that is why I felt part of something "bigger" than myself when I was approached by Valentin & Co Optometrist in Cape Gate Shopping Centre to do their photography for their website as they wanted to update their site with some more recent images. This is what the final product looked like
Believe it or not, but I actually have two lives that I live. No, I am not a work geek by day and the Dark Knight at night, but I have a day job with Northlink College where I assist with the Photography (bet you did not see that coming), Videography (Yes, I can do that too), PR and Social Media. But every now and again I get asked to operate and play with the big boys (and girl) of the College...the Executive Management and I recently took their corporate profile photographs for the website and annual reports. This was fun... :-)
In my line of work you get to meet very interesting people and none are as interesting as these people that I photographed from the Northlink College Tygerberg Campus. So many of them, so different in every way...yet, they all have the same goal - Assisting students in obtaining their dreams. You will see many of these people offer up their time and energy to assist students to be their best and therefore I salute this campus' management and those that work with them.
Not many people have the opportunity to be trusted with making the faces of an organisation look good, but recently...I had that opportunity. I was commissioned to take the corporate head-shots of the Campus Managers of Northlink College that will be placed in the annual report of 2013. We had very little time and pulled it off in record time
